Adoption Program
Families explore adoption
for many reasons. Some couples have struggled with infertility
and they have decided to build their families thorugh adoption.
Many families come to Family Services with the desire to provide
a permanent home for a child(ren) waiting to be adopted. By reaching
out to a child who needs a home, adoptive families find their
lives immeasurably enriched. There are also families who adopt
a child known to them or the child of a relative, or the child
of a pregnant woman who has already chosen them as adoptive parents
for her child.
Many wonderful children across North Carolina need loving
familes. We work with familes interested in infants that
come into our agency's custody through our Pregnanacy Counseling
Program. We also work with families intrested in North Carolina's
waiting children - older children, sibling groups, children
with special emotional and physical needs, who are in foster
care across our state. To learn more about North Carolina's
waiting children, go to www.dhhs.state.nc.us/dss/adopt/.
