We are a licensed child-placing agency in North Carolina and provide a continuum of services to families adopting internationally:

bullet Family Services, Inc. provides Information, home studies, education, post-placement services and ongoing support for North Carolina families through partnership agreements with the family’s out-of-state International Adoption child-placing agency. Our services are comprehensive and include a thorough Home Study assessment required for international adoption, a two day pre-adoption education experience, and assistance with finalizing an international adoption in North Carolina. After adoptive placement we offer ongoing support through our Post Adoption (Adoption Connections) Program.
bullet Once a North Carolina family chooses an out-of-state International Adoption agency, they can contact Family Services, Inc. for their adoption home study and subsequent services.
bullet If your family has not yet chosen an International Adoption, you are invited to contact the Adoption Program staff of Family Services, Inc. to assist with reviewing international adoption options.

Children from China, Ethiopia, Korea, Vietnam, Thailand, Mongolia, Guatemala, India, Russia, and Eastern Europe have been placed with our families. Our partner agencies include:

International adoption can be a costly proces;, however, there are many resources, from grant and loan programs to federal income tax credits, to help make this process possible for families. For information see Affording Your Adoption. For specific information on fees for international adoption services through Family Services, Inc., please contact our Adoption Program staff.

When you adopt internationally, part of the process includes obtaining approval for the international adoption through the United States Citizenship and Immigration Service (USCIS). For more information on USCIS requirements to adopt internationally, visit www.uscis.gov and go to "Adoption." Both Family Services, Inc. and the out-of-state International Adoption agencies assist families with this process.
